Nowadays, the economic contribution of Agriculture to India's GDP is declining due to several reasons, one of the major reasons is Human-Wildlife Conflict in Agricultural Landscape. Agricultural fields are meant to have acute risk because of several wild animals such as Macaques, Monkeys, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Elephants, Deer, Porcupines etc., as they are unable to get their food for survival in the forests. As a result of which, they are tending to switch to the urban environment [especially agricultural crop fields] with the notion that they could survive on Crops as their feed, at ease.

Consequently, as the animal’s trample over the fields and feed on the crops, there is a severe loss that is being incurred to the Crop fields. Thus, resulting in a terrible decline in the Productivity of the Crops and Farmer’s are facing drastic Inflation in their Income.

Further, Gamyam Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad, in collaboration with AINP on Vertebrate Pest Management project, PJTSAU Hyderabad centre under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)  entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for commercialization of the product to deter wild animals and birds from Agricultural Crops to assist the farmer’s from nook and corner of the country, to tackle the issues of higher gravity, by developing several deterring devices both manual, semi-automated and fully automated, which produce distress, alarm and predatory call sequences.

The prime motto behind the design and development of these devices.

• Reduces the crop damage by 80-90%, when the instructions defined by the PJTSAU are followed.
• Protects the crops, aquaculture farms (Fish and Prawn tanks) from Monkeys, Birds like Peafowl, Herons, Egrets other fish-eating birds like Cormorants, kite etc.) Elephants etc.
• These gadgets are harmless, no mortality of birds and animals. It deters the animals only, from the fields
• These gadgets can be used during the vulnerable crop stages (like at the time of seed sowing and dough/milking stage), whereas in aquaculture, it can be used right from seedling to harvest stage as per the need.
• Return on Investment is within one crop season.
• Reduces the expenditure by the farmer on Labour significantly in crop protection.
• These gadgets also help in bringing about a considerable change in the attitude among the farming community not to kill birds and wild animals.
• This gadget will pave a way to minimize human-wildlife conflicts not only in the agriculture landscape but also in other prominent habitats for sustenance and biodiversity conversation.
